KickboxingSTRENGTH AND CONDITIONING CLASSES

The Smash Gyms Strength and Conditioning Program is for those individuals with goals to reach their personal maximum fitness potential.  While maintaining a strong focus on safety, this beginner friendly program will teach you proper fitness training in a fun and supportive environment. All classes are taught by Certified Instructors!

The program was designed to teach team members proper strength and conditioning techniques and principles while pushing them physically and mentally. Our certified, professional instructors will teach you proper body mechanics to help you safely reach a new physical fitness level. You will build amazing conditioning and increase your functional strength to a level you never thought possible.

The Smash Strength and Conditioning Team is serious about fitness, safety and fun.   You can do all of your fitness training at Smash. You will not need personal training. You will not need to wander around 24-hour fitness and wonder what silly machine you can do next. Smash Gyms offers a safe path to help you reach all your fitness goals. This program includes a wide variety of methods designed to improve your overall athleticism. This includes weight training & functional strength training under the direct supervision of professional instructors. Our program develops he following ten attributes…

1. Cardiovascular-The ability of body systems to gather, process, and deliver oxygen.

2. Stamina-The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store, and utilize energy.

3. Strength-The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply force.

4. Flexibility-the ability to maximize the range of motion at a given joint.

5. Power-The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply maximum force in minimum time.

6. Speed-The ability to minimize the time cycle of a repeated movement.

7. Coordination-The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a singular distinct movement.

8. Agility-The ability to minimize transition time from one movement pattern to another.

9. Balance-The ability to control the placement of the bodies center of gravity in relation to its support base.

10. Accuracy-The ability to control movement in a given direction or at a given intensity. 


KettlebellKETTLEBELL Training

BootcampSmash and Bash - Bootcamp

You've never seen a class like this! Burn calories, build strength, and increase your coordination all in one class! The hour passes by quickly because of the timed stations, unique and fun exercises, awesome partners, and encouraging instructors!

This class incorporates challenging workout stations designed to push anyone to the next level! You get an intense overall workout while allowing you to progress at your own pace. A winning and fun combination of aerobic, weight training, and body weight exercises like you've never seen! This class is very popular for all fitness levels and age groups!

The instructor and students will cheer you on and help you improve. Elite students have supplemented their training with this class to help prepare for events like Tough Mudder, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions in addition to overall fitness.

Get fit, have fun and learn to punch and kick! Are you looking for a fun workout that will increase your strength and flexibility while burning fat? Then our kickboxing is for you! It is an exciting cardiovascular workout that blends elements of boxing, kickboxing, martial arts and traditional aerobics into a 60-minute exercise routine. Punch away your stress! Safely hit and kick pads, mitts and shields with a partner and under the supervision of a professional trainer!

Our beginner friendly classes will help you learn proper technique for punches, kicks, knees and elbows while burning a ton of calories!

This intense, total-body workout can improve strength, aerobic fitness, flexibility, coordination, and balance. The American Council on Exercise (ACE), which evaluates exercise products and programs, notes that, during a one-hour kickboxing workout, you can burn from 500 to 800 calories, which is up to twice the calories you burn during a one-hour step-aerobics class.

Kickboxing classes can be a great alternative for people who have become bored with weight-room cardiovascular activities, such as brisk walking or jogging on a treadmill. They also provide an option for people who enjoy the "semi-dance" movements found in aerobics or step classes. Our kickboxing classes are great for both the beginner and advanced students. Besides physical benefits, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu also helps in strengthening the mind. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is often described as a “physical chess match” because of the problem solving, strategy and mental stimulation involved. The movements are also known to enhance coordination and balance. This can help the practitioners increase concentration levels and self-discipline. It also increases the practitioner’s level of self-esteem and helps gain confidence.

Smash Gym's MMA program includes multiple class options in each core MMA discipline daily. Each day you will have BJJ Black belts help you with your ground game, train takedowns with Division 1 Wrestlers, learn from veteran kickboxing instructors with 20 years of teaching experience, and improve your strength and conditioning classes with our amazing fitness program. The core of the techniques being taught can be applied both in gi and no-gi grappling. Our beginner friendly Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes are also designed to be fun, safe, and great exercise!

"This review is for the Kids Martial Arts and Smash and Bash Bootcamp held at Smash Gyms. I was referred to Smash Gyms by a family member who trains in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class at Smash Gyms. The atmosphere in the gym is very welcoming to all. My son, who is 9 years old, took a liking to the Kids Martial Arts class on the very first day. His confidence, discipline, and knowledge of self defense has rapidly developed since enrolling in this school. He insists that he wants to continue to train daily. The instructors leading the Kids Martial Arts program do an excellent job working with the children. Parents can work out during the kids' class as well. I have taken the Smash and Bash Bootcamp while my son is training. This also is an awesome, challenging, and very convenient class for any parent wanting a great workout while their child is training. "Generally, I hate walking into gyms for the first time and having to "consult" with pushy sales people trying to get you to buy a membership at their gym before you try it out (ie. Fitness 19, Club One, 24 Hour Fitness). So it was nice to walk into Smash Gyms and not have them try to sell you on multiple types of plans. I was able to try different types of classes first using the Amazon Locals deal. After taking the kickboxing class, I was pretty much sold! The boot camp classes are also pretty awesome. I've been a member now for about a month and managed to lose 15 pounds!! Perks = no more dieting and watching my calories! As for how this compares with other kickboxing gyms, I've only tried one other kickboxing gym (Unlimited MMA in Milpitas). It was okay but I like the atmosphere here better--not as intimidating and the people are nicer. Also, this gym is closer to the freeways, makes it easier to hop on back to the 237 or 101 after working out. If you have any kids, there's a play room area and they also have martial arts classes for kids." - Mary N.

Came here for a week trial of unlimited classes! Got to try out kickboxing which was very intense since I had only tried out cardio kickboxing classes before. The instructors were all super helpful anywhere from helping newcomers with the equipment to technique tips. " - Stacey L



"This place rocks! The atmosphere is very friendly and casual, not intimidating at all. People (staff and clients) are friendly and helpful. Walk in the door and Rudy will help you out on what you need to get you started.I tried out the circuit training at noon, kickboxing, and zumba. Circuit training is great workout, small class and personal attention. Zumba is only as good as the instructor, and Raquel is energetic and fun. Kickboxing is pads and mitts, not the kick in the air stuff, good workout, and the instructors walk around to make sure people's forms are correct. Though your workout quality do depend on a decent partner.The only complain I have of this place is no shower, other than that, it's perfect. ." - Viola C.
